  1. listen to the name,MILKshake. u don’t need ice cream just MILK. so use milk and chocolate syrup and voala a milkshake.

  2. Try freezing some milk, when slushy, put in blender with chocolate syrup.

  3. blend milk, chocolate syrup, and ice in blender add a little strong coffee to it if you need a ZIP

  4. Treebeard says:

    Milk, ice, vanilla extract.

  5. Sugar Pie says:

use 2 cups of milk, 2 cups of ice, a tsp. of vanilla extract, 2 Tbsp sugar, and maybe a little half and half or whipping cream if you have some. Maybe Cool Whip. Whir in blender until smooth.

  6. If you have cream, mix it half and half with milk. If you have half and half, use it straight. If you only have milk use that. Put it in you blender and add the flavorings you want and a tablespoon or so of sugar. Turn the blender on high, then add crushed ice a little at a time, allowing it to blend until smooth each time, until it is as thick as you want it.

A milkshake without ice cream would be a smoothie. Just blend ice and milk and a flavoring.

  8. Glitter Girl says:

Well…..the best kind of milkshake is WITH ice cream. Since you don’t have any, you can make some. Just take a cup of milk, 1/2 cup of sugar, and like….2 teaspoons of vanilla (put the ingredients in a Ziploc baggy). Then, take like a coffee container and put ice and salt (it doesn’t matter how much salt) in it. Now put the baggy inside the coffee container, put a lid on it, then shake it for like……5-10 minutes. Now you have ice cream for you milkshake =)

You may be craving a vanilla milkshake, but without ice cream, all you’re making is a vanilla smoothie. For it to be a milkshake, it needs ice cream.

Have you any yogurt or frozen yogurt? That will give the drink some more body. Otherwise, lots of ice, some powdered milk and regular milk, along with flavoring/syrup in the blender.

  10. In the uk a milkshake is just milk and a syrup or flavoured powder stirred in. I guess your version of a ‘shake is what we get from the burger joints. The ‘thick’ shake. You will only get a good thick shake from icecream because, let’s face facts here, that is all a thick shake is: slightly soft and melted icecream. Just take yourself off to a burger joint. Easier and quicker and less mess on your kitchen worktop.

Errrrr…. Well it’s simple just use 1 cup of crushed ice, 1/2 cup milk, 2 sliced bananas, and 6 table spoons of choclate powder or syrup mix it in the blender untils it looks slushie like pore it a glass and bam a wonderful choclate banana bay smoothie

  12. I thought the request was for a vanilla milk shake?

bananas and chocolate are not relevant

  13. Thank goodness someone finally said that!

  14. Someone above said you should make your own, which is a great idea. However, do not use those measurements. You’d end up with eating sugar that’s somewhat milky. Use 2tbs of sugar per cup of milk for the best results.
