Instructions for Old El Paso Chili Company Frozen Drink Station?

I got the Old El Paso Chile Company Frozen drink station as a gift, then moved to a new house and lost the directions before I could use it. I have several friends who want strawberry daiquiris for a party I am having, but I have no clue how to use this machine. Does anyone have any instructions and recipes? Thanks so much!

How Do I Keep Frozen Drinks Frozen After Serving?

frozen drinksKeeping Frozen Drinks Frozen

I have a great recipe for frozen Pina Coladas, but every time I make them they become liquefied towards the end and I would like them to stay frozen the whole time. Its not a question of am I drinking them too slow, because I’m not, trust me.

  • 6oz captain morgan spiced rum
  • 6oz creme of coconut
  • 8oz pineapple juice by dole
  • 1 banana
  • 4 cups of ice

The drink melts. Rather most of the ice floats to the top and a liquid layer about 2-3 in. up from the bottom forms. This is in the glass after they have been served, not the pitcher, which of course I put in the freezer until someone needs another. I already tried more ice which just ruins the flavor. Any ideas would be worth a try.

Can I substitute clear Rum for Vodka in bucket drinks?

Meal Replacement Shake

Click for a Recommended Product

I bought the Gingerbread Latte and Peppermint Twist frozen drink mixes from Target, and I was wondering if rum would be an ok substitute in these drinks or if I should just spend the money on a new bottle of Vodka. We don’t really drink Vodka at my house, EVER. lol. So I would rather just use what I have or buy more rum if needed. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Making a Frozen Watermelon Drink

Frozen Watermelon Drink

Who doesn’t love a good Frozen Watermelon Drink?

OK. Maybe this isn’t really frozen, but it sure looks good!  On top of that, I love Rita’s accent.

I don’t know about you guys, but for me there is nothing that spells summer like watermelon.  Bundling the sweet goodness of watermelon into a watermelon drink just sounds mouth-watering!

This recipe is quick and easy, requiring only three ingredients to make. I might add some ice cubes to thicken it a bit, but what can I say… it isn’t my recipe!

A watermelon drink provides a healthy dose of:

  • Lycopene, a powerful antioxidant
  • Vitamin A, to improve eye health and boost immunity
  • Vitamin B6, to help the immune system promote antibodies
  • Vitamin C, to bolster the immune system’s fight against viruses and fight infections
  • Potassium, to help prevent muscle cramps

One cup of watermelon juice, the main component of this watermelon drink, contains only 71 calories.

Frozen Watermelon Drink Blender

If you’d like to enjoy a watermelon drink like the one above, you don’t need to spend a fortune on the blender.  Watermelon is pretty easy to blend thanks to its liquidy (is that even a word?) consistency.

Here’s an affordable blender that should work well for making your watermelon drink.

Frozen Hot Chocolate: Magic in a Blender

If a Hot Chocolate sounds good on a cold winter day, then a Frozen Hot Chocolate has to be magic on a hot summer day!

This icy taste treat does take some time, since you have to make hot chocolate and then cool it, but the wait is worth it.  If you are planning to serve Frozen Hot Chocolate for a group of any size, try making it in two phases.  Cook the hot chocolate in the morning, and then prepare the frozen drink once your guests have arrived.

Frozen Hot Chocolate Recipe

There are some basic ingredients that you’ll need for this chocolaty delight.  These aren’t always something you’d have sitting in your kitchen, so you’ll want to make sure you plan ahead for this one.

Frozen Hot Chocolate Ingredients

  • 3 ounces high-quality chocolate
  • 2 teaspoons store-bought hot chocolate mix
  • 1-1/2 Tbsp.  sugar
  • 1/2 cup plus 1 cup milk
  • 3 cups ice cubes
  • whipped cream
  • chocolate shavings

To make a Frozen Hot Chocolate, start by chopping up the chocolate and melting it in a saucepan over low heat.  Add the hot chocolate mix and sugar, while stirring continually.

When smooth, remove from the heat and add 1/2 cup milk gradually, stirring the entire time.  When smoothly blended, set to one side and allow to cool to room temperature.

To prepare the cold drink add the chocolate blend to a blender, add the remaining milk and ice cubes.  Blend on high until the mix reaches the consistency of a daiquiri.

Pour the frozen drink into a pretty Margarita glass, and garnish with whipped cream.  Sprinkle the chocolate shavings onto the whipped cream and serve your Frozen Hot Chocolate right away.

Crawgator Like Fat Tuesday?

crawgatorCrawgator Love

A Crawgator is a frozen drink served on Bourbon Street in New Orleans at Fat Tuesday.   I know it has 151 rum, but I’m not sure what else is in a Crawgator.

Anyone have a recipe to copy it?

Crawgator Description

I’ve never been to New Orleans, nor to a Fat Tuesday bar, but I got this description of a Crawgator from the Fat Tuesday website:

Beware of the Crawgator’s bite! It’s made with Tropical Juices and Flavors, Light Rum, Dark Jamaican Rum and Brandy.

Unfortunately, the site doesn’t give away the secret of the proportions or what “Tropical Juices and Flavors” are.  My guess is that it might be the “Classic Tropical Punch” Drink Mix.

The drink selection at Fat Tuesday looks outstanding, especially if you are looking for frozen drinks.  Tons of different flavors and mixes are available at the store and on their site.

I really wish I had more information.  If you do, I’d love it if you could add more in the Crawgator comments section below.
