food processorI want to make a smoothie with ice, frozen fruit, and yogurt, but I only have a food processor. Can I do that with a processor, since I don’t have a blender? Or will it not work?

Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Here's a tasty Strawberry Banana Smoothie made with three common ingredients. Milk. Banana. Strawberry. Smoothie. Yum!
Ingredients
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1-1/2 cups strawberries, frozen
  • 1 banana, in pieces, frozen
Instructions
  1. Place milk in a blender
  2. Set speed at medium
  3. Place cover on blender
  4. Feed strawberries and banana through hole in top
  5. Increase speed to high
  6. Blend until smooth

 

Strawberry Banana Smoothie Ingredients

 
Milk for Strawberry Banana SmoothieMilk is a great source of casein and whey proteins. It also adds vitamin D, calcium and riboflavin to your smoothie.
You can use whole milk, or substitute 2% or 1% milk to reduce the fat in your smoothie.
Other options for milk include goat’s milk, soy milk, almond milk, coconut milk and rice milk.

What is a good and inexpensive no-alcohol fruit smoothie recipe?

I had a 4 fruit smoothie from java city the other day and it was exceptionally good. This got me thinking that it would probably be pretty easy to make my own smoothies but I don’t have fresh fruit in my apartment! I’m In Love With a Mango Pineapple Smoothie

I just finished drinking my first McDonald’s Mango Pineapple Smoothie, and it won’t be my last.

I sucked this down so fast that I had a massive ice cream headache.  The flavor of mango in this smoothie is heady, with just a slight aftertaste of pineapple.

It was creamy.  Real creamy!  And did I mention that flavor?

A friend of mine said she wouldn’t try it because it’s made of a mix instead of fresh fruit.  She has no idea what she’s missing.  Mix or not, this is the best I’ve had in quite a while.

As I’m following the Tweets flying by on Twitter, I’m seeing comments that many McDonald’s are running out already.  I’m not surprised!

I’ve also seen many Tweets that said “Just had my third (fourth or fifth) Mango Pineapple Smoothie of the day at McD’s.”

It sounds like McDonald’s has a winner here.
