Jack shows us how to make a perfect Margarita in this short video. I like that he adds an egg white for increasing the frothiness in this tasty looking margarita. The only thing I don’t like is the big old chuck of something (probably ice) that falls into the glass as he’s pouring the drink.
Jack starts with a blender half-full of ice, then adds the following ingredients to his Perfect Margarita:
- 6 oz. Frozen Limeade
- 1 egg white
- 6 oz. Tequila
- 2 oz. Triple Sec
- 1 tbsp Karo Syrup
Put the cover on the blender and blend on high speed until the Margarita is as smooth as you like. Prepare a Margarita glass by running a lime wedge around the rim, and then dipping the rim into salt. Pour in the Margarita, and enjoy!
On secret to a great Margarita is do have a blender that can handle the ice well. One way around this is to use crushed ice, if your refrigerator has a built in ice crusher. Another is to crush the ice by placing it into a plastic bag and then hammering it with a rolling pin. But the easiest way is to buy a good quality blender to handle the ice .
Here’s a blender that should stand up to it:
If you noticed, Jack was using a quality Margarita glass. Here’s one that is just the right size:
And finally, Jack used a special Margarita salt and rimmer. I’m not sure exactly what he used, but here’s what I’d recommend:
Of course, if money is tight, you can always rim a table glass in table salt. But it’s always nice to have all the Margarita fixings!
