Protein shake instead of a meal replacement?

protein shake

I know there's meal replacement shakes, but they provide little to no protein. I'm looking to burn a little fat while at the same time adding lean mass. Whats a good low calorie shake that would suit my needs?

You’ll want slow-releasing protein, so look for "Caseine protein" or "Whey protein". They both slowly release the protein so you’ve got a supply overnight, its best to take it then.

I use Ensure which has multiple different ones that allow for different suppliments to be added which includes Protein. I love it for supplimenting what vitamins I might be lacking in my diet.

YES, YES, I know only old people drink that.. Well ha.. Im 29 and love it!

It sounds like you are lifting weights, which means you should be eating more protein than the average Meal Replacement Shake can provide.

I swear by Met-Rx Extreme Chocolate. You can by them at any GNC. I have even seen them at some grocery stores.
    260 Cal
40 Grams of Protein (mix of slow release milk and casein and fast release whey)
Excellent Assortment of Vitamins, minerals and Amino Acids.

The taste is EXCELLENT and it keeps me full for several hours.

Univeral Nutrition makes one called Specialized Protein for Dieting, made from isolated soy protein. You can get it from GNC.

I knew casein was a slow release protein, I though whey was a fast release protein though???
